Local Plant Resources
The issue facing many companies is that their valuable plant floor resources who understand the equipment, applications, and processes are very busy. Many understand communications but may not be around when an incident or outage occurs. Worse yet, these problems can be momentary and difficult to understand the cause. These people, busy with other responsibilities, are not sitting around monitors waiting for issues to occur, but when one happens, they need to resolve it quickly. Adding to the complexity of these resources, there is typically no accurate documentation on what is connected to the network or how it is connected.
IntraVUE has proven to be extremely valuable to these individuals. If properly deployed, IntraVUE can provide the following:
IntraVUE has proven to be extremely valuable to these individuals. If properly deployed, IntraVUE can provide the following:
- Complete list of all connected OT devices.
- Animated graphical map of the current status of communications.
- A detailed event log of anything that has happened on the network.
- The ability to send the collected data for instant analysis.
- Enough details to have a knowledgeable conversation with network IT.
- Archive and history of the networks in case of a catastrophic incident.

Offline Analysis
IntraVUE not only provides a live graphical view of the networks but also the ability to record all events on these networks with time references so they can be reviewed offline. This allows any individual the ability to understand not only which devices were affected but also the sequence of events that led up to the problem. Problems that occur overnight or over the weekend can be analyzed as if you were there at the time of the occurrence.
Remote Support
IntraVUE data can also be sent for offline analysis. By allowing the recorded data to be sent via email to others and installed in an offline version of IntraVUE, a specialist can also review the occurrence to provide valuable insight. This mechanism allows support without requiring an external connection to your network.
Diagnostic Reports
Recorded details can also be uploaded to a site in which the data is processed, and a diagnostic report (PDF) is returned within a few minutes. The report provides an overview with indications of potential problems such as broadcast storms, duplicate addresses, connection faults, and other details. This report will save time and provide guidance on where to look to resolve any issues.
